The Visakhapatnam Chapter of  INTACH held its General Body Annual Meeting for the year 2005-06 on 21-1-2006. The meeting was chaired by the Convener and District Collector Sri Praveen Prakash.

The following resolutions were adopted:

  • Annual World Heritage Day 2006 celebrations will be held in the rear courtyard of the Collector Office. The Convener and District Collector agreed to the proposed removal of an unused structure in the rear courtyard of the Collector's Office.

  • Financial assistance for this year's World Heritage Day programme will again be provided by the DTPC.

  • The book listing of Heritage Buildings will be released to celebrate World Heritage Day.

  • INTACH will prepare an action plan to develop appropriate guidelines for the identification, restoration, protection and regulation of development activities relating to Heritage Structures. Funds for this exercise will be arranged by the Collector. The exercise will be conducted in coordination with concerned Government bodies and other citizen groups. Life member Sri Y. Narasimha Rao volunteered to coordinate this activity.
